30 Birds of Bennington

This is a big project that will fill Bennington with birds I hope to see many on our buildings. We will be working with the Audubon Society of Vermont. Individuals and businesses can sponsor a bird. Each bird will cost $2800 unless location forces more expensive supplies. This will go toward the artist, paints, insurance and supports Bennington Murals for projects in the works. Your location and bird name will be on the Bennington Murals art map and will be a nice surprise for visitors and locals, alike. It is a unifying project that will bring all our towns together.

Each bird can only be represented once as part of this program. The size of each will range from 60-144 sq ft. depending on location on building. I am estimating 3-6 days. Proofs will be produced before painting on the wall.

Many artists will be part of this project. Artists that decide to do this, need to be under the helmet of Bennington Murals for insurance purposes and keep the art on track. If an artist has never painted  a large mural before we will offer assistance to make sure everything is safe and completed on time. If you are interested in participating, contact us by filling out the “Interested in joining us?” form on the Contact page.

I am looking for a donor for a large pigeon on the corner of School and Pleasant Street.  This is the second bird and I am looking for one or many patrons to assist in completion. It will be $1000 for the Pleasant Street Pigeon to start the project. UU congregation is the largest donor so far. They raised $400. The final amount could be raised in parts or one single donor. Their name would be part of the mural story.
